ELENA, a program by the European Investment Bank, supports Avedøre District Heating, local social housing organisations, and EGC in upgrading buildings and installing fourth-generation district heating. We transform the area with renewable energy sources and improved tenant comfort.
Our Vision
To create Avedøre Green City where public-private partnerships see synergies and continues to collaborate ambitiously towards less carbon-based consumption.
Our Role
As a secretariat for Avedøre Green City, consisting of local housing organisations, academic institutions, the municipality, and district heating, through citizen engagement and communications we ensure social acceptance within tenants and public-private partnerships.
Outcomes
A manual for replicating Green Cities based on the work and findings from the project. The manual focuses on public-private partnerships, refurbishments, investing in district heating, and social acceptance.
Renewable Energy
We faciliate implementation of photovoltaics, reuse of heat, and other RES.
Social Housing
We provide demo-sites through partnerhsips with public and social housing.

We follow the EU in the goal for obtaining energy efficincy first through optimising existing buildings.
