One of the most important activities this year is the launch of Denmark’s new architecture policy as part of Copenhagen hosting the European Conference on Architectural Policies. EU delegates, city architects, cultural leaders, researchers, and associations from across Europe gathered to discuss how architecture policy is applied in practice and what impact it can have.

The policy introduces a paradigm shift in how we build, emphasising circularity, transformation, and inclusion, guided by eight principles and three focus areas — with the New European Bauhaus initiative highlighted as an important tool. This is important for us because it’s our core focus: without people at the centre, the transition slows. With them, solutions become more equitable, durable, and deeply embedded in local communities.

As an example, explore our Best Practice booklet from the Eyes Hearts Hands Urban Revolution project, developed together with ICONS and all the lighthouses from seven districts throughout Europe.
