It is abundantly clear that the transition to more renewable energy is moving too slowly. The XPRESS project has worked with both physical and organizational frameworks to promote the use of renewable energy in municipalities and housing organizations by means of integrating more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on this agenda. The purpose of the project has been to look at where renewable energy can be promoted in municipalities and how to use opportunities in public procurement to activate innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in this process. XPRESS has spread the seeds for new tools and ways of working – and the SMEs are ready to take it further.
